Many Japanese online stores are built for domestic delivery. A store may not offer an overseas address field, may only ship within Japan, or may have rules that limit how orders can be placed. That does not automatically mean the item is unavailable to an overseas buyer, but the seller and item conditions need to be checked before any purchase is attempted.
First, save the exact product page
Send the product URL, selected size or colour, quantity, and destination country. Product pages can change or sell out quickly, so a screenshot is helpful when the page is temporary, a preorder, or a limited release. If the item is available in several versions, identify the exact option before a request is reviewed.
What needs checking before a proxy purchase
- Whether the seller permits proxy purchasing or domestic delivery to a Japan-based service
- Whether the item is in stock, a preorder, a lottery, or a timed release
- Whether the item can be sent to the destination country
- Whether an account, identity check, purchase limit, or seller rule prevents a compliant request
- Whether the requested timeframe allows a careful review
Why an overseas checkout workaround is not the answer
Do not ask someone to bypass a store’s rules, create duplicate accounts, lend an identity, or evade a purchase limit. A legitimate proxy request should be checked against the seller’s terms before work begins. If the seller or item does not allow the request, we explain that rather than trying to force a transaction through.
When package forwarding can be enough
If you can complete the order yourself and only need a Japanese domestic address, package forwarding may be suitable. If you need help identifying the item, assessing a Japanese-only shop, placing an eligible order, or managing a request that needs more than an address, start with a proxy shopping inquiry instead.
What to send for a clear request
- Product page or store link
- Screenshot if the page may disappear or is difficult to access again
- Exact item variation, quantity, and deadline
- Destination country
- Any visible checks that matter after the item reaches Japan
