Package consolidation means holding multiple eligible purchases in Japan and packing them into one outgoing shipment. It can reduce the number of international parcels and repeated base charges, but it does not automatically make shipping cheaper in every case.
Why consolidation can save money
International carriers often apply a minimum charge or base cost to every parcel. Sending one appropriately packed parcel instead of several small parcels can reduce repeated handling and shipment charges. Consolidation can also remove unnecessary retailer boxes when you approve that change.
Why a combined parcel can cost more
Carriers may calculate charges using actual weight, parcel dimensions, or volumetric weight. A large light parcel can therefore cost more than expected. Combining rigid boxes, long items, plush toys, or fragile products may create a parcel that moves into a higher size band.
Some products should not be packed together. Fragile items may need separation, liquids or batteries may face carrier restrictions, and high-value goods may require a shipping method with appropriate tracking or insurance. Destination-country rules also affect the available options.
What can be removed or changed
When approved, unnecessary outer shipping cartons and excess retailer packing may be removed. Product packaging, factory seals, collectible boxes, tags, and accessories should not be removed unless you clearly request it. Tell us what packaging matters before repacking begins.
Can purchases from different stores be combined?
Yes. Virtual In can coordinate purchases from several Japanese stores and combine eligible items. Send an item-by-item list with references (if available), quantities and deadlines. For preorders, used listings and auctions, tell us which items are essential and whether separate shipments are acceptable.
A product URL is not required if you need us to search first. Product names, photos, model numbers or keywords help us confirm the scope before any purchase.
Can you deliver to my own warehouse in Japan?
Yes. You can choose domestic delivery to your own warehouse or freight forwarder in Japan instead of an international shipment arranged by Virtual In. Tell us the receiving city, warehouse requirements and deadline before purchase.
- Confirm that your warehouse can receive the products and parcel sizes.
- Provide the receiving name and full address when the delivery plan is agreed.
- Tell us any required customer reference, labels, delivery booking or packaging instructions.
- Confirm who will arrange and pay for onward international shipping.
Domestic delivery and onward international forwarding are separate stages. Let us know which Japan-side receiving, visual-check and consolidation steps you want included in the quote.

Storage and timing
Consolidation requires items to arrive within the agreed storage period. Preorders and made-to-order products can have long or uncertain release schedules, so combining them with in-stock products may delay the entire shipment or create storage charges. The included storage period and any later fees should be confirmed in your quote.
Customs and declarations
Combining items does not remove customs obligations. The parcel declaration must still describe the contents and values accurately. A larger combined shipment may cross a tax or duty threshold in the destination country. Import duties, taxes, brokerage, and clearance charges are normally paid by the recipient unless the quote says otherwise.
How to request a useful comparison
- List each store, item, quantity and expected arrival date.
- Provide the destination country, or tell us if delivery is to your own warehouse in Japan. Include a postal code if requested.
- Identify fragile, boxed, high-value, battery-powered, or unusually large items.
- State whether retailer shipping boxes may be removed.
- Explain whether product packaging must remain unopened.
- Ask which trackable shipping methods are available after packing.
The most accurate international shipping price is normally available only after the items have arrived and the final parcel has been packed and measured.
