How to Request Japan-Exclusive Items from Overseas
How to Request Japan-Exclusive Items from Overseas
Reviewed by Virtual In’s Japan-based team. Last updated September 2026.

Some products are difficult to request from overseas because the seller uses a Japanese-only checkout, a domestic delivery address, a limited release, a physical store, or a product name that is hard to search in another language. You do not need to know every detail before contacting us. Start with the clearest reference you have and tell us where the item needs to go.
Start with the strongest reference available
A direct product or listing URL is the fastest starting point. If you do not have one, a screenshot, photo, product name, release notice, store name, or a description of what you remember can still help us identify the request. Keep the original page open when possible: small details such as colour, size, edition, quantity, preorder window, or a purchase limit can change whether an item is the right one.
What to include in an overseas request
- The product page, listing, screenshot, or photo
- The exact version you want: colour, size, model, edition, or quantity
- Your destination country and any deadline
- Whether the item is a normal purchase, a preorder, a store visit, a lottery, or an auction
- Any packaging or visible-condition details that matter before shipping
Examples of a useful request
- You found an item on a Japanese store page
- Send the page and say which variation, quantity, and destination country you need. We check the seller conditions and whether the request is eligible before quoting.
- You only have a photo from social media or a friend
- Send the clearest image you have, plus any name, release period, shop, or city you remember. We can assess whether a simple search is possible before any deeper research.
- The item is store-only or has a short release window
- Send the store, date, opening time, and product reference as early as possible. Store coverage, stock, seller rules, and timing must be checked before any visit or attempt is agreed.
What our Japan-based team checks
Before we act, we check the available information against seller rules, item availability, proxy eligibility, known restrictions, destination, and the work required. Some requests cannot be accepted because of store rules, prohibited items, identity verification, export restrictions, or a deadline that does not leave enough time for a careful review.
Keep the request safe and clear
Do not send account passwords, payment-card numbers, identity documents, or account verification codes. Do not ask us to create duplicate accounts, lend an identity, bypass a purchase limit, or break a store’s rules. If the request is eligible, we explain the next step and the conditions that apply before doing paid work.
Quick answers for overseas buyers
- Do I need to know the Japanese product name?
- No. A direct link is best, but a screenshot, photo, partial name, or clear description can be enough to begin.
- Can you help with a product sold only in a physical store?
- Possibly. Send the store location, date, and item details early so we can check coverage, timing, and eligibility.
- Can you promise that a limited item will be available?
- No. Stock, lotteries, auctions, drops, and seller decisions are outside our control. We check the request before agreeing to an attempt.
